Travelers due to cross the Guatemala-Mexico border by land should reconfirm the status of border crossing points due to heightened security and protests in the area. A Mexico-bound “migrant caravan” departed Honduras on January 14; some 3,000 migrants are awaiting immigration proceedings at the border.
