Power has largely been restored at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in New York City following an outage across the facility last night. The blackout was caused by an electrical fire at a substation in Astoria. The airport was briefly evacuated, and the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) issued a temporary ground stop, which has since been lifted. The incident caused several flights to be diverted to nearby airports. Flight operations have now resumed with delays. Passengers transiting LaGuardia airport should expect residual disruption and reconfirm schedules before setting out.
